Joslyn Fecik is the founder of Ubuntu, an ethical jewelry line that sponsors several children at an orphanage in Haiti and provides back to school scholarships for middle schoolers.

Kick back, relax, and have a blast making gemstone bracelets that give back in a beautiful way!

In this class you will:

  1. Learn how to make a natural dyed jade bracelet with cowrie shell or tassel detail (several color options available).
  2. Be provided with all tools and materials to create your very own bracelet.
  3. Receive one-on-one instruction from Joslyn
  4. Probably listen to some good tunes
  5. Learn briefly about the children Ubuntu sponsors and where your class contribution is going.

By the end of the class, you will go home with your very own handmade bracelet that you can wear yourself and brag to everyone about how you made it, or give it as a gift!! The Ubuntu belief is that if you give love, you can change the world. Come join our little love community and help us make a difference in a precious child’s life!

<3 **A small collection of Ubuntu merchandise will be available for purchase following the class. 50% from each sale is donated to the orphanage in Haiti.

I started my jewelry line, Ubuntu, in 2015 after returning from a missions trip to Haiti. I visited an orphanage there and fell in love with the children. Upon returning to the USA I wanted to help sponsor the children as much as I possibly could but I was newly graduated from college and newly married, living in NYC with my husband. We didn't have much extra money but I did have a bunch of beads left over from a longtime jewelry hobby that I'd abandoned. I started with one bracelet and then Ubuntu was born. Since starting the brand in 2015, we now sponsor 5 children at Gertrude's Orphanage in Port-Au-Prince with hopes of sponsoring more children in 2017. Our monthly donations help to provide clean water, clothing, food, and education for the children at the orphanage.
