Spring is here so let’s work with herbs and make three wonderful herbal products! In this special workshop with Angela Carillo of Alegna Soap, you’ll learn how to make a variety of beautiful skincare products: healing balms, luxurious body butters and exfoliating body scrubs. You will also learn how to incorporate herbs and other botanicals into these products as well as properties of different plant oils.

This is a great class for massage therapists, spa owners, bath and body entrepreneurs and anyone who wants to make good-for-your-body products! After making these products in class you will feel comfortable making your own at home.

Students will work to make a large batch body butter, whipped up nice and light. Body butters are anhydrous, meaning they are made without water. They are unlike lotions or creams and do not need preservatives. You’ll love the markups on these products if you have a business and sell skincare. If you don’t have a business, you’ll love choosing your own ingredients to make your own products. You’ll also learn to make very easy but effective body scrubs. We’ll discuss the best packaging options for scrubs and also for each product we make this evening.

We’ll also cover how to label your bath and body products correctly. Next, you’ll make a batch of herbal balms. All of these products can include a variety of herbs and their healing properties. Students will make and take home: Herbal Body Scrub Herbal Body Butter Herbal Balm This class is focused to beginner through advanced.

Students will receive a valuable handout that includes a supplier list. The handout also includes the formulas we use in class, guidelines and instructions, as well as other valuable information such as what equipment and supplies to use.

Alchemy began for me as a child growing up in central Illinois. I would create infusions with botanicals found walking in the woods, forgaging in fields and in my garden. In 1998 I created my botanical beauty company, launching stores in Boston and Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
Now I show students how to create their own indie beauty products and encourage them through their transformational journey.
I graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a B.A. in Journalism, worked in corporate as a market research analyst for Forrester Research and have 20 years experience as an organic, indie beauty formulator. I am also a Reiki Master and shamanic energy healer. I see/feel beyond 3D thinking and into the formless of 5D and beyond. It's an interesting life!
