This is a brand new workshop led by visiting guest instructor and indie beauty expert, Holly Port!

Join us this month and learn to make relaxing and uplifting spa products for the shower and bath. These are long, cold months, and what better way to start off your day than with an shower steamer (well, maybe second to that hot steaming cup of coffee)! Or how about unwinding at night with a relaxing soak in the tub with good-for-you ingredients that leave your skin soft and your body ready for bed?

This is a hands-on workshop taught by well-known indie beauty expert, Holly Port from Lotion Bar Cafe (see bio below). Holly will show you how to make professional-quality, conditioning bath fizzies (also coined bath bombs by Lush) but with all-natural ingredients as well as essential oils. You will also learn to make shower steamers, which are perfect for those who don’t have a bathtub or the time to take a bath.

Holly will walk you through step-by-step how to make the perfect bath fizzy/bomb. You’ll learn how to formulate your own recipe, using yummy nut and seed butters and well as skin-nourishing oils. We’ll cover fragrance oils and the benefits of essential oils, colors (both natural and skin-safe liquid as well as powdered dyes), and alternative ingredients that you can add to make them more luxurious. After taking this class you will have bath bombs down pat!

And just in case you’re still unclear:

Bath Fizzy Description: A bath fizzy, or fizzy bath bomb, is a ball of effervescent goodness that you drop into your bathtub. It fizzes, like an Alka Seltzer, releasing skin-softening emollients into your tub.

Shower Steamer Description: A slow-fizzing puck that’s placed on the shower floor at the start of your shower. When the hot water hits it, it will slowly start to dissolve, releasing essential oils into the shower. Sinus Tablets, made with energizing aromas of peppermint, menthol and eucalyptus are very popular during the winter and especially during cold and flu season.
